Superman uses his heat vision on Darkseid as he tries to escape through a Boom Tube after invading Metropolis in the DC Universe; the thunder god Raiden uses his lightning on Shao Kahn as he tries to escape through a portal to the Netherrealm after invading Earthrealm in the Mortal Kombat Universe. Both actions happen simultaneously, unknowingly merging the two realities. As the worlds collide, kombatants cross paths, deadly alliances are formed, and the champions of both universes face complete destruction if they are consumed by the rage.
