Speaking at an American Mining Industry Roundtable in Washington, Trump said the projects would create thousands of jobs and boost economic and national security.

Trump also highlighted more than 160 minerals deals worth nearly $40 billion signed or approved by his administration over the past 18 months. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the US has also signed 27 critical minerals agreements with other countries as Washington seeks to secure global supply chains for rare earths, batteries and other strategic materials.
