Another "Alex" video. lol
We had lunch at the Pirate's House.
Food was home-made and delicious.
Even received a guided tour. :37 - 8:50
The guide was adorable.
Afterwards, we visited a couple of squares.
The Waving Girl statue would have to wait. lol
What an exceptional early afternoon!
I highly recommend Savannah, Ga!
Something for everyone.
Kids, families, singles, and especially couples.
An incredibly romantic city.
Scroll through.
See what you like.
The Pirates' House
Home to The Herb House.
Oldest standing structure in the state of Georgia.
Built in 1734.
Later converted into an Inn and Tavern.
Where the inspiration for the book "Treasure Island" came from.
We ate in The Captains
The oldest room of the inn.
The wooden rafters were fastened by wooden pins.
Really cool.
Monterey Square
Laid out in 1847.
Monterey Square commemorates the Battle of Monterrey (1846).
In the center of the square is a monument honoring General Casimir Pulaski.
A body is buried beneath which is believed to be Pulaski.
The square was featured in John Berendt's 1994 true crime novel Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil.
Lafayette Square
A fountain commemorates the 250th anniversary of the founding of the Georgia colony.
Adjacent to the square is the Roman Catholic Cathedral Basilica of St. John the Baptist.
We went there also.
I'll post it as it's own video.
Absolutely stunning!
Reminds me of the cathedrals I saw in France and Italy.
I am blessed and thankful.
Another beautiful day in Georgia!
