After germination of spring maize two insects attack on new seedlings ;shoot fly and stem borer. Both destroy main sprout of plant that results in reduction of plant population that ultimately leads to lower yield.
So it is important to apply insecticides right after completing germination in order to secure plan population. There are many products available in market,some address single insect and a few combination which control both of these.
