Описание: An interview done with Miriam Robbins Dexter for the making of the Signs Out of Time documentary on the life and work of archaeologist Marija Gimbutas, by Donna Read and Starhawk. Dozens of people were interviewed to make Signs Out of Time - many of them prominent artists, thinkers, writers, and scholars in archaeology, history, and philosophy - and some of the extended interviews were made available in VHS in the series "Behind the Screen: The Uncut Interviews". Until now the have been unavailable in new format. Donna Read has given permission for the whole series of interviews to be uploaded to YouTube. The series is a treasure trove of information of historic value to the fields of archaeology, religion and women’s studies.

Miriam Robbins Dexter co-edited an anthology of articles in honor of the archaeologist Marija Gimbutas, Varia on the Indo-European Past: Papers in Memory of Marija Gimbutas (1997), as well as a monograph of Dr. Gimbutas' own collected articles, The Kurgan Culture and the Indo-Europeanization of Europe: Selected articles from 1952 to 1993 (1997). She has also co-edited several volumes of the Proceedings of the UCLA Indo-European conference. She edited and supplemented the book which Professor Gimbutas was writing at the time of her death, The Living Goddesses (University of California Press, Winter, 1999. In 2012 her book, "Sacred Display: Divine and Magical Female Figures of Eurasia" won the Association for the Study of Women and Mythology (ASWM) Sarasvati award for best nonfiction book. Miriam recently co-edited the award winning anthology "Foremothers of the Women's Spirituality Movement": it won The Susan Koppelman award for best feminist edited anthology. Miriam received her PhD in Indo-European Studies at UCLA, where she was a lecturer in the Women’s Studies program/department.
