Join us, John and Rhonda (and Jazzy the service dog!), on Our New Front Porch as we dive deep into our Natchez Trace RV NIGHTMARE! We were excited to revisit this Tennessee RV campground, hoping for improvements after our initial stay four years ago. While we did find some positive changes like a new dog park, a pickleball court, and ongoing pool/restroom renovations, many old frustrations remained.
In this video, we cover:
Initial Impressions & Past Issues (4 Years Ago): Navigating rough campground roads, confusing RV site numbering, and questionable electrical hookups. Plus, Rhonda's strange gym experience and the lack of cell service (Verizon and T-Mobile were non-existent for us then, and mostly now, unless you have AT&T).
Present Day Improvements & Lingering Problems: We'll show you the new amenities at Natchez Trace RV Campground, but also the still-treacherous road edges in Phase 2, the persistent challenge of poorly marked RV sites, and the shocking state of some electrical pedestals (a quality surge protector is a MUST here!).
Infrastructure Surprises: Discover the trail closed by a sinkhole and the unreliable park WiFi that left us disconnected. If remote work or staying connected is vital for your RV travel, this is critical info.
Critical RV Safety Warning: Learn the ONE THING you must NEVER do when leaving the Natchez Trace RV Campground entrance with your RV – a mistake that could lead to catastrophic damage due to a low clearance bridge (11-foot bridge warning!).
The Jaw-Dropping Reason We Left Early: The full story of our experience in the storm shelter during a tornado warning, involving an unexpected and hostile confrontation regarding our service dog, Jazzy. This incident raised serious concerns about feeling safe and welcome.
Local Area Insights: Tips on nearby conveniences like Walmart in Hohenwald, and local attractions like Stillhouse Falls Trail and the Meriwether Lewis National Monument.
If you're planning a trip to Natchez Trace Parkway, camping in Tennessee, or are a Thousand Trails member, this honest review provides crucial insights. We share our RVing fails and lessons learned to help you avoid similar RV park problems and make informed decisions for your RV adventures. This is real RV life, unfiltered!
