1st: check for fuses that need to be replaced (brake/stop)
2nd: check for burnt out light bulbs (if plausible)
3rd: check for continuity/faulty light switch
Common symptoms of a bad or faulty brake switch: brake lights do not function properly or do not come on. The opposite could also occur, the brake lights may never go off.
I had been driving around not knowing that my I had no brake lights until one day someone pulled up next to me and let me know-Thank you.
Before ordering the part I wanted to be sure that this would solve the issue. This is a short video of what I did.
