An EMP could wipe out the entire electric grid of the United States or even the entire world (if from the sun) in which case all electronic devices would cease to function including cars, airplanes, computers, power stations, ATMs, grocery stores, the water system, everything. No more water or electricity. It could take up to a year to re-establish power and water. It is estimated 90 percent of America would die within that year because they would have nothing to eat and people would turn on each other in desperation. Preppers would be the first targets. But that's worst case scenario. It might be not as bad, but even if power goes out for a week or a month, how would you survive? What would you eat? if water is turned off, what would you drink? Toilets won't work so where do you go to the bathroom? What about medical help? You would be on your own, so are you ready? Should you stay in your home if an angry desperate mob shows up in your neighborhood? Not fun things to consider, but maybe something to think about just in case.
