A Form 6-K is just like a "Form 8-K" but for foreign companies, If you trade on a U.S. stock exchange and you're a foreign company and you're between quarterly reports and you have important information that's material to the company, you have to release a Form 6-K to investors. This is designed to keep people that are invested in that foreign company that's traded on the U.S. exchange informed of current information. Today's word is "Form 6-K", very similar to "Form 8-K" for U.S. companies. Form 6-K is for foreign companies to inform their investors of what's going on between quarters of material information. Definition - The SEC form used by non-U.S. based companies to disclose all information which is not covered in their quarterly / annual financial statements. This is used in order to provide U.S. investors with the same degree of information that would be available to investors based in the same country as the company.

Any foreign company wishing to attract US investors must file a 6-K form with the SEC along with any financial statements.
