Описание: Hardeep Singh Puri has assured that India’s fuel supplies remain secure despite disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz, urging citizens not to panic over LPG availability.
The Petroleum Minister told lawmakers that there is no shortage of petrol, diesel or kerosene, and said fuel retail outlets across the country remain fully stocked. He added that India has secured sufficient crude supplies through alternative routes, with volumes now exceeding what would normally arrive via the Strait of Hormuz.
However, on the ground the situation appears more challenging. In several areas, households and small businesses say they are struggling to get LPG cylinder refills, with some consumers claiming they are being forced to buy cylinders at inflated prices amid fears of black-market sales.
Small eateries and roadside vendors say the shortage is becoming a serious concern, with some operating on their last available cylinder and worrying they may soon have to shut down.
Meanwhile, a surge in demand for induction stoves is creating additional pressure in the market as households look for alternatives.
