It dawned on Steve Ramey in the aftermath of George Floyd's killing, as racial justice protests swept the globe.
"I'm racist," he admitted. "I don't want to be. I don't mean to be. I'm not trying to be. It's just the way I was raised."
Ramey is a 60-year-old white Renton resident. He said his racism shows in the jokes he tells and in the stereotypes he associates with people of color.
