According to the most recent updates from Mirror Now, the Supreme Court will soon rule on a number of arguments contesting the legality of the 103rd Constitutional Amendment, which grants members of the economically weaker sections (EWS) a 10% reservation in admissions and government employment. The Chief Justice of India, UU Lalit, announced before the trial began that there would be four rulings on the constitutionality of the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) reservations in higher education and the issues surrounding public employment based on financial circumstances.
Justice Dinesh Maheswari upholds, saying the EWS quota did not violate the basic structure of the Constitution. The EWS quota does not breach the 50% ceiling on reservations fixed in the 1992 Indra Sawhney Act.
