The collapse was triggered by a 7.1 magnitude earthquake in Myanmar, causing widespread damage. The skyscraper, under construction, was 33 stories tall. Rescue teams are searching the rubble for survivors, primarily laborers trapped inside. The earthquake also affected Myanmar, with the death toll rising to 694 and over 1,670 injured. Bangkok's transport systems were severely disrupted.
