IMD predicts heavy rainfall in parts of Tamil Nadu ahead of Cyclone Dana's landfall

Описание: Regional Meteorological Department in Chennai predicted heavy rain over Vellore, Ranipet, Tirupattur, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Salem, Kallakurichi, Cuddalore, Tiruvannamalai, Ariyalur, Perambalur, Tiruchirappalli, Mayiladuthurai districts on Tuesday.

It further said in its bulletin that heavy rain with thunderstorm and lightning will continue in these districts along with Namakkal, Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur, Thanjavur, Pudukkottai, Karur districts and Karaikal area on October 22.

The heavy rain is predicted following the onset of Cyclone Dana. The cyclone is anticipated to bring heavy rainfall, strong winds, and storm surges, with potential hazards for shipping and fishing activities.
