The Interesting Fact: The haunting, synth-heavy melody that defines the song is actually a "reimagining" of a rare 1975 track called "The Word II" by Japanese keyboardist Shigeo Sekito. DeMarco used a vintage Yamaha Electone organ—the same type of instrument Sekito used—to recreate the loop, giving the song its "haunted carnival" vibe. Additionally, the title is a direct reference to Freemasonry; the "Chamber of Reflection" is a small, dark room where initiates are placed alone to meditate on their mortality before their induction.
