Hello Love Beams we are gathering together for this monthly Sadhana, in prayer and healing and restoration of our bodies and spirits for the Black Mountain NC Area and surrounding community:
WE are supporting BeLoved Asheville
https://www.belovedasheville.com
BeLoved Asheville is a trusted, grassroots, and equity-focused organization. With over fifteen years of experience in movement building and advocacy for human rights, the organization’s success is credited to the ability to build relationships, create visible change, and generate community-led momentum for collective action.
UPDATE ON THEIR MISSION:
Our Hurricane Helene Response
Backed by your support, BeLoved Asheville is dedicating every resource to those most affected by this disaster. Our immediate focus has been on critical necessities like food, water, and healthcare for survival and stability. As winter looms, we are securing warm and safe housing for the displaced. Looking further ahead, recovery from the vast destruction will be a large-scale investment over several years. We believe that we can unite to rebuild a community that embodies home, health, equity, and opportunity for all.
my dear partner/hubby and I were looking at planning our wedding at the sacred grounds of brown mountain beach resort next year which was DESTROYED during the flooding they experienced after Hurricane Helene. I feel deeply called to send this community extra love and care as they heal from this disaster.
Join me for a relaxing and rejuvenating evening of trauma informed restorative yoga and yoga nidra prior to turning in for the evening for a restful sleep.
WE WILL BEGIN AT 830PM
Experience a trauma informed restorative yoga practice, Restorative yoga is suitable for practitioners of all levels. By definition, restorative (yin) yoga is a restful practice that holds yoga poses (asanas) for a longer duration using props like yoga blocks, blankets, and bolsters. It is a practice of deep relaxation that emphasizes the meditative aspect of yoga—the union of body and mind. Through the use of props for support, many of the postures are held almost effortlessly.
When the body enters a state of relaxation the mind can also consciously relax as tension is released from both body and mind. The only work that's required on your part during a restorative yoga practice is to tune into your breath and become aware of any sensations or thoughts that may arise, and gently allow them to release.
Restorative Yin Yoga and Yoga Nidra will be led by Alexandria Love LMSW, Sex therapist
