OPEN ME! NOTE that this trip was made in Dec 2019, BEFORE the entire coronavirus situation happened! Be sure to watch the whole thing, because the most important part starts from 4:24 to the end!
As you watch this, please bear the following in mind:
Media (and our own social circles!) tend to glamorize travel in a way that is unrealistic and over-exaggerated, and looking back on my video, I can see how it seems like I'm doing the same thing. But please understand that I am trying to convey 1) the beauty & warmth of Mexico, contrary to many of its stereotypes and 2) to urge you to do things that scare you, because you will grow from the experience, often for the better.
I am NOT telling everyone to go solo travel, or saying that Mexico is a perfectly safe country in all parts and for everyone. I also am NOT saying that travel is a necessary part of a fulfilling and enriching life.
I also acknowledge that I am so privileged to be able to afford travel in the first place, and that as a tourist there for a short 25 days, I only saw a very “pretty” and curated part of the country.
Be sure watch to the end of the video, because I hope the message you take away from this video is really: to work on becoming better every day, whatever that looks like to you.
All that being said, although it is so far from perfect, I am so proud of this video because it took me so much time to film, write, caption and piece together. Mexico was perhaps the best experience I've had in my lifetime, and I hope I was able to convey even a slice of that to you through this video. Enjoy :)
P.S. Forgive my imperfect Spanish - I only started learning about a year-ish ago in Jan 2019 and still got a long way to go :)

I would love my videos to reach more people, so if you are willing I would be so grateful if you helped me translate my videos into any other language: http://www.youtube.com/timedtext_cs_p...
(You don't have to do the full video, doing half works as well, and someone else can pick up where you left off!)
Here are the instructions for translation:
Click the “Contribute” tab (on the top), then you’ll get a list of my videos; then click “contribute” (under actions on the right) to add subtitles for whichever vid you want to translate. There you have the option to translate the description/title (you can just use Google translate for this), or on the top you can click Subtitles/CC to add subtitles to the video itself! Then click “publish” to publish whatever you add :)
