Is this song Irish or Scottish? All we know for sure is that it is older than "Auld Lang Syne" by Robert Byrns and was sung long before this at the end of a gathering of friends. It is a song of farewell and hope combining both joy and sorrow. Today, as I'm going to publish this video, is the last day of the year 2017. What a fitting song to end the year with! We look back of many a joyful gathering of friends and musicians and are glad we were able to share some of them with you. Like this beautiful performance from William who we met during the year (together with Helen) and who came back to sing for us in the Gypsy Wagon. And this is also an example how we often in life first meet as strangers, but by connecting through music fast become friends to stay in each other memories for ever! May there be many more of such wonderful and uplifting experiences in the coming year. - Happy new year to all our viewers and friends!
