Is this a mad swap or what?? This 1JZ-GTE Subaru Forester runs a Toyota R154 manual gearbox, and still uses the Subaru rear end...
On high boost, it puts out a pretty hectic 577hp, which would get this now-RWD Forester moving with some serious pace.
Having been owned/driven by his late Mum in the years before the swap, this car meant a lot to @rtstkcoffey 's (on IG) family; so he and his wife decided that they would rebuild it better than ever.
Five years later, this awesome machine is out at Clubfest, turning heads and winning awards!
From here on, it looks like gearbox/axle strengthening is on the cards, so they can really push the reliable Soarer-sourced 1JZ engine further.
