The Federal Government has introduced a new policy requiring road contractors to work on-site for at least two weeks before receiving mobilisation fees. This move aims to enhance project accountability and execution efficiency.
Meanwhile, the Federal Executive Council has approved N733 billion for key road projects, including:
Completion of the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano road
Dualisation of Section Two of the Ibadan-Ilorin road
Dualisation of the Odupani-Itu-Idedem Item road
Construction of a flyover at Abakpa, near the 82 Division in Enugu
On The Front Burners, anchors Dr. Idahosa Osamhanze, Blessing Eichie, and Oyinpreye Krumale break down the implications of these new policies, how they will impact contractors, and what this means for Nigeria’s infrastructure development.
Will this new rule speed up or delay road construction? Join the discussion for expert insights.
