Nuclear weapon
A nuclear weapon is a type of explosive device that derives its destructive power from nuclear reactions, either fission (splitting of atomic nuclei) or fusion (joining of atomic nuclei). Strategic nuclear weapons are designed to be used against an enemy's cities, military installations, or other high-value targets, and are typically delivered by intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs), submarine-launched ballistic missiles (SLBMs), or strategic bombers. Tactical nuclear weapons, on the other hand, are intended for use on the battlefield against enemy troops, tanks, or other military targets, and are typically delivered by artillery shells, rockets, or short-range missiles.
