On June 12th, 1988, CSX Train #54 moves past the UP Diamond in Mt. Vernon, IL and Precision National Corp's Facilty. PNC is now NRE-Mt. Vernon. This line is the Former Louisville and Nashville's Louisville to St. Louis Line. It lasted as a through route for CSX until the early to mid-90's, when the Oakawville-East St. Louis section of the line was abandoned. The Remainder of the line, from Evensville, Indiana to Oakawville, Illinois, lasted under CSX ownership until 2006, when the Evansville and Western took over Operations.
