And now for the last of the single deckers from the Wetherby bus running day, but not the last upload, we have a double-bill of double decker action to pass through, but first we have some German traction to visit, in the form of a Mercedes-Benz O405.
N577EUG was new in 1996 and represents an order of what became a total of four Optare bodied O405s new to Yorkshire independant Black Prince, who ran services around Leeds & Morley and were painted in house colours of red, yellow & burgendy, though all vehicles had their own individual variation of said colour scheme. 577 later passed to Red Kite Travel as their 009 in 2005 following the closure of Black Prince, and was accquired for preservation in 2014 and returned to Black Prince colours the following year.
N577EUG was participating as part of the Connexions running day based at Wetherby racecourse, comprising an easterly run from Wetherby to York via Bickerton, Long Marston, Rufforth & Acomb
N577EUG is powered by a Mercedes-Benz OM447h engine coupled to a ZF Ecomat 5HP500 5-speed automatic gearbox, distinctively gutsy and whiny. Hope you all enjoy.
