The Standing Calf Stretch is a simple and effective stretch we use at Good Vibes Physio to improve calf flexibility, reduce lower leg stiffness, and restore ankle mobility — especially if you run, walk a lot, or spend long hours on your feet.
Tight calves can limit ankle movement and contribute to Achilles pain, plantar fascia pain, and knee or foot issues. This stretch helps keep your lower legs moving well.
We use this stretch in physio and mobility programs to help people:
✅ Improve calf flexibility and ankle dorsiflexion
✅ Reduce calf and Achilles stiffness
✅ Improve comfort with walking, running, and squatting

How to do it:
Stand facing a wall and place your hands on it for support.
Step one leg back and keep the heel on the floor.
Lean forward until you feel a stretch in the back calf, keeping the back knee straight.
