Описание: These images are of West Lancaster Avenue facing toward the center of town. The ca. 1905 “Then” image show’s Downingtown’s first high school on the right, called the Central School. The building was purchased by the School Board in 1872 for $6,950 which was called a “great bargain” at the time. The school was torn down and replaced by a much larger school building in 1909. The Baptist Church building on the left in the distance can be seen in both images. The “Now” image was taken during this year's Downingtown Good Neighbor Day race on July 4th.
