Before the war, Western intelligence estimated Iran had 3,000 ballistic missiles. Nine days in, Iran has launched over 500. And they're still firing. Either the estimates were catastrophically wrong, or Iran built more than anyone knew. Day one: Iran launched 420 missiles in 24 hours. That's 14% of the entire estimated stockpile in one day. At that rate, the missiles should have run out by now. But they haven't. By day nine, Iran had launched over 500 ballistic missiles and nearly 2,000 drones across 29 separate strike waves. Israel has conducted 2,500+ strikes destroying 80% of Iran's air defenses and hitting production facilities. Iranian launch rates are down 90% from day one. But waves 25 through 29 still arrived deploying Kheibar Shekan, Fatah, Khorramshahr-4, and previously unseen systems. Revised intelligence estimates now suggest Iran had 4,000 to 5,000 missiles before the war. If accurate, that means 3,400 to 4,500 remain. Iran ramped up production between 2020-2025 and nobody noticed. Distributed facilities, underground production, pre-positioned components. At current rates, Iran's stockpile could last weeks or months. The question isn't just how many missiles Iran has left. The question is how they hid production on this scale while the entire world was watching.
