A welsh poet and writer
"Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night" is his most famous work

It was written in 1947 and published in 1951, but has been featured in modern popular culture numerous times since then:

George R.R. Martin published a sci-fi novel in 1977 called "Dying Of the Light"

Parts of the poem was featured in the 2014 movie "Interstellar"

The poem was read by Iggy Pop on his 2019 album "Free"

Sir Anthony Hopkins, Sir Jonathan Pryce, Alfred Molina, Michael Sheen, Susan Sarandon, and Tom Hiddleston have all read the poem for various cross-promotions
