It's a remedy available to the Victim or Complainant when police files a closure report u/s 173 crpc & Complainant/victim is dissatisfied with the investigation in pursuance of which the chargesheet has been filed.
⚖️ Procedure of entertain the Protest Petition -
On receipt of Protest Petition, if the Magistrate decides to discard police report he shall then give notice to complainant or informant to provide an opportunity of being heard at the time of consideration of Police report.
