Sucre is the constitutional capital of Bolivia, while La Paz is the administrative capital. Coming by bus from Cochabamba, Sucre, at 2800m elevation, is warmer and less hectic.
A much smaller city than La Paz, Sucre is well-organized with attractions - museums, churches, squares, markets - within walking distance of the centre. Even the cemetery is an attraction!
There are plenty of options for food. People are a bit more affluent than in La Paz, and one feels safer walking around. You even get dancing zebras helping you cross the road?
