One of the best TV quotes is from the series Ozark. Ruth says, "What I'm tell you is Wendy's playing chess and you're playing F*$c$ing Candy Land."
I remembered this quote last night while watching a series on a streaming channel. When I realized a character's strategy, I said, "The are playing checkers and he's playing chess!" Said another way, the character is five steps ahead of others who are attempting to figure out why he did something four steps ago. The character has a goal.
