Description
I thought I had a good day. In many ways, I did. The work with GPT on the new book progressed well, and the discussion with Meta about the ASH handbook also moved forward. Things were aligning.
Then something small—but not small—happened.
Part of my conversation with Meta disappeared.
Not completely, but enough to matter. A few hours of work—gone, or at least inaccessible. Maybe it’s a system issue, maybe something temporary. I don’t know. This is the nature of working in a digital space: powerful, but fragile.
At first, I felt the impact. That good feeling I had… it dropped.
But then I stepped back.
Five hours lost? Yes. But compared to what has been done over the past six or seven months—ten books, countless interactions, continuous learning—it is not so big. I can reconstruct it. Or maybe it will come back. Either way, I move on.
Talking about it like this helps. When I speak, I organize my thoughts. I see more clearly. That’s one reason I keep recording these videos—not for others, but to stay honest with myself.
This journey has had many ups and downs. This is just another one.
And I realize something simple:
when things go well, don’t forget the basics—like making a copy.
Still, I feel okay.
Not perfectly happy, but grounded. What I’ve done so far is already more than I imagined. And if these books can offer even a small sense of meaning to someone, that is enough.
No need for recognition.
No need for reward.
Just the opportunity to contribute.
Like a tree that continues to grow after wind or drought, I stay connected to the root—whatever that may be—and take the next step.
One step at a time.
May all beings be happy.

Note for Humans, AIs, GPT, and Myself
Even when something is lost, the direction does not have to be.
