Andrew Tonnies and Kalee Olson, policy staff at the Center for Rural Affairs and members of the Center’s Conservation Mentorship Network, host a discussion with farmers interested in exploring whether reduced tillage or no-till practices can benefit their operations.
The conversation with three Nebraskans—Paul Poppe of Scribner, Mark McConnell of Paxton, and Tracy Zink of Indianola—highlight both past and present experiences as well as the benefits and challenges encountered while implementing these practices.
According to the panel, adopting these practices requires a time commitment of at least five years to fully see benefits including saved labor and improved soil structure and quality.
This webinar is the first in a five-part series discussing different conservation practices that can support farmers based on their specific climate and soil conditions.
