As promised some footage before the full restoration begins, after being off the road for four years, and stood for eight months on a cold, windy but sunny January day I decided to give it a spin around the yard to throw some oil about and keep things freed off.
Having charged the batteries for a couple of hours, and filled the Start Pilote with ether, then giving it half a dozen shots, the Cummins E290 Big Cam roars into life!
Fitted with the Fuller Road-ranger 9509 gearbox and Rockwell rear axle these S95's where premium specification tractor units designed for 38 tons, in the UK back in 1978, being fitted with Motor Panels cabs that where prone to excessive corrosion, this is now a rare survivor. I've tried to put some Jake brake sound effects on but the floor mounted pedal has a fault on it. Ear phones are recommended!
Due to wind noise most of this clip has had to be in the cab.
