Tetrahedral Kite, Beamish

Описание: As part of Beamish Museum's 'Wind in Your Sails' event, visitors helped the NUSTEM team make this huge kite. Using just drinking straws, fishing line, survival blankets and tape (and, if we're honest, a cheeky couple of lengths of reinforcing dowelling), we built this kite on Saturday 1st July 2017.

…and it flew! This was the best flight we had out of it – there were a few other hops in very variable winds, but this was the most convincing flight. You can see that it's pretty stable once it's in the air, and certainly less fragile than when it's on the ground.
