Описание: Hey guys what’s up! My name is Aya, and today I’m gonna talk about something that almost everyone can relate to, technology addiction. Yup, that “I can’t put my phone down” kind of thing.
Do you guys know? Technology is everywhere, our phones, laptops, even smartwatches. And let’s be real, we use it a lot. But here’s a thing, when “a lot” turns into ”too much”, it starts to become a problem, that’s what people call technology addiction.


So I did a little research that took place in my everyday life, at school, at home, and online. I read some articles, and even asked a few of my friends how they feel about their screen time. And guess what? Most of them said they use their phone for more than six hours a day, and almost half admitted they feel weird when they’re not online. I realized that technology addiction isn’t just about how much we use our phones, but how it affects our focus, mood, and social life.


While doing this research, I found out that studies show that around 70% teens spend over 7 hours a day on their phone. They admit they check their phones as soon they wake up. That’s actually one of the signs of addiction, when you can’t stay away from your phone, even when you try. According to some studies, teenagers who use social media too much often report problems with sleep, focus, and mood. Like, it’s harder to concentrate in class, or you stay up too late watching videos, then wake up super tired the next day.
There’s even something called “phantom vibration syndrome”, that feeling when you think your phone is vibrating or ringing, but it actually didn’t. It’s not just about time, it’s also about how we use technology. When we compare ourselves to people on social media, perfect photos, fancy lifestyles, it can make us feel insecure. That’s one reason why mental health issues, like anxiety and depression have increased among teens who are constantly online. So what can we do about it? Im not saying we should ditch our phones, that’s impossible. But we can try small steps, like setting screen time limits and turning off notifications.


After doing this research, I learned that taking small breaks from screens can actually make life feel calmer and more real. Technology is awesome, it helps us learn, connect, and create, but we shouldn’t let it control us.
