From the 7th of May until the 11th of May, the Railway Preservation Society of Ireland ran their annual five day international railtour. This year's tour was called ''The South Munster'' because the tour was mainly in the province of Munster.
This years visits included - Belfast, Dublin, M3 Parkway, Rosslare Strand, Cork, Midleton, Cobh & Killarney.
This was also 85 Merlin's first time on the Cork Line in around 13 years.
On day one, V class locomotive No. 85 Merlin travelled to Dublin from Belfast with the RPSI's Mark 2 set.
On day two, a diesel tour was organised, the motive power was a GM class 071 locomotive, number 084. The tour ran from Connolly - M3 Parkway - Rosslare Strand and back to Connolly. What was really interesting about this trip was that on the run from M3 Parkway - Rosslare Strand, the tour ran on the little used Docklands Branch, this line only gets trains in the Morning and Evenings Monday - Friday and no weekend service. So a loco hauled train is very rare on this line. The last time a railtour ran on the Docklands Branch was in September 2011.
On day three, 85 Merlin ran from Dublin to Cork and then to Midleton, this was 85's first time to Cork in about 13 years.
On day four 85 & 461 worked together in the Cork area, they operated from Cork - Cobh, then Cobh - Killarney - Cork, all footage taken on day four was filmed by Youtube user ''The Irish Mainline''
Day five was the last and final day of this years five day international railtour, 85 ran back from Cork - Dublin - Belfast, as seen at Drumcondra and Portmarnock.
Footage was taken on Thursday the 7th of May
Friday the 8th of May
Saturday the 9th of May
Sunday the 10th of May
And Monday the 11th of May 2015.
