Information about the importance of psychological factors in cardiovascular health will be emphasized, including the importance of a biopsychosocial approach to treatment. Psychological risk factors for CVD will be reviewed such as impact of anxiety, depression, and stress on cardiovascular health. Finally, information about the importance/impact of integrated health care and specific psychocardiology interventions will be reviewed.
After this presentation, attendees will be able to:
1. Understand the biopsychosocial factors that impact the development of cardiovascular disease.
2. Understand how to utilize integrated care to meet best practices for cardiovascular healthcare.
3. Gain knowledge of psychocardiology interventions.
