There’s no such thing as a sure thing in Formula 1. No matter how well a team is doing, it doesn’t take much to knock them off course and send their fortunes into a downward spiral.
F1 history is littered with drivers who ended up going through this, showing that no matter how well you try to plan out your career, there’s always a chance you could end up in the right place at the wrong time. Just ask Fernando Alonso!
For some drivers, that experience was eventually forgotten as that team eventually got back to its proper place at the front. For others it was virtually career ending.
