And let me tell you after a full week of walking, grinding, and praying to the Poké-gods, I finally hatched something incredible.

It all started with a stack of 10KM eggs I’d been saving. You know, the purple ones the ones that might have Riolu, Gible, Axew, or something even crazier. I had been walking nearly everywhere for days. No buses. No rides. Just pure walking phone in hand, battery pack in my pocket, and eyes on the adventure sync progress bar like a man on a mission.

By the time I was down to my last incubator, I had five 10KM eggs ready to go. I spun a PokéStop, got one more, and started my final stretch. I remember thinking: “If I don’t get something good out of this batch, I might take a break from hatching altogether.” Yeah, right.

So I walked. Six kilometers on Monday. Another eight on Tuesday. I took the long route home. I even walked in circles at the park just to clock in that final half kilometer. And then, finally… it happened.

My phone buzzed. I looked down. "Oh?" The egg hatch animation started. My heart was actually racing. First egg… Gible! Okay, not bad. Not shiny, but I’ll take it.

Second egg… Togedemaru. Meh.

Third egg… Mienfoo. Ugh. The disappointment was real.

Fourth egg… Rockruff! Not shiny, but always a solid hatch.

Fifth egg… Riolu.

Wait RIOLU?!

My thumb was shaking. Was it shiny? No. But it was a high IV Riolu, and that alone made the walk worth it. I was already feeling better. But I still had one last egg.

Now here’s the crazy part.

The sixth egg hatched slowly. There was a slight lag. I thought my game had frozen. And then… boom. Axew. SHINY. My screen lit up with that sparkling glow, and I actually shouted out loud in public.

People looked at me like I was crazy. I didn’t care.

A shiny Axew from a 10KM egg? That’s like hitting the jackpot. And it wasn’t just shiny it was good. The IVs were 96%. I couldn’t believe it.

All those steps. All those nights walking through my neighborhood. The random detours, the foot cramps, even the time I got caught in the rain with my phone nearly dying all of it led to this moment.

And that’s what I love about Pokémon GO.

Egg hatching isn’t just about luck. It’s about the grind. The journey. The surprise of what’s inside. You never really know what you’re going to get, but when you do hit the jackpot, it feels earned. It feels epic.

So yeah, I’ll probably never stop hatching eggs. Because now I know anything is possible. Even a shiny Axew.

And next? I’m aiming for that shiny Riolu.
