Saturday night in Las Vegas. Four-hour dinner shift. A few risky decisions.
The shift was done entirely in the car, running about 4 hours, covering roughly 48 miles, and completing three DoorDash orders and one Uber Eats order.
The night started with a DoorDash that took me slightly out of my main zone. Fortunately, I was able to catch another order bringing me back toward the core area.
After a short 20-minute break, I picked up a pizza order with about a 15-minute wait, but since the drop-off was just down the street, the delay wasn’t too bad. That order paid about $12.
Later, I accepted another order that pushed me north into a different zone — an area that doesn’t usually bring strong return traffic. It was a Plus order but only increased slightly.
While in the northern zone, I waited at a hotspot hoping to catch something heading back down. Nothing came through, so I ended up commuting back to the main area without an order.
Total for the night:
• DoorDash: ~$50
• Uber Eats: ~$19
• Total: ~$70
Some nights aren’t about volume — they’re about learning which zones to trust.
