Sparrowhawk parenting
The female sparrowhawk tears up food for the chicks and portions it out. Meanwhile the male's role is to hunt.

Organised routine
When the male has a catch he calls the female and she flies up to take the food from him. She then often takes the food to a branch away from the chicks to be prepare it before bringing it to the nest.

These chicks are just days old and are already feeding well

Sparrowhawks
Sparrowhawks are fast, agile hunters adapted to woodland habitats and their movements are so swift it can be difficult to watch them. They are also highly secretive predators and it took me three years to finally get a camera on this nest.

There are four chicks in this nest and I was able to get the camera there before they hatched.
