This is the powerhouse session from our ISPI exchange in Bulgaria. We sit down with the visionary director of the Plovdiv Regional Centre—a leader of 18 years who works tirelessly to "change the mentality of the population."
In this incredibly candid roundtable, we discuss the "universal fight for advocacy" that all specialists face. We explore the shared challenges that "go across oceans," from the problem of constant restructuring and laws "drafted by politicians, not professionals," to the critical funding cliff that leaves families asking, "What happens to people after 18?"

Then, the session pivots. Professor Antonio shares the full, incredible story of the Bulgarian Field Hockey Federation. With "absolutely no experience," they took a team to the Special Olympics World Games and placed 2nd in the world. Learn how they used that victory to successfully lobby the government, change the national laws, and secure funding for all "special athletes."

Finally, they reveal the brilliant solution to the "age 18 cliff"—a model that ensures inclusion for life.
