Описание: A Narok court has sentenced a fifty-year-old man to life imprisonment after he pleaded guilty to two charges of defilement and marrying a ten-year-old girl. 50-year-old Saigulu Ololosereka, who was first arraigned on Monday, pleaded with the court to pardon him, claiming that he had married the girl according to customary law after paying a bride price. And as Laura Otieno reports, the court noted that the judgement will serve as a lesson to others, who continue to engage in outlawed practices which often violate the rights of minors.
