Syed Mahmood Akhtar Sahab, a former IRS officer, was deeply involved in re-engineering the Waqf System operated in the country. With his rich experience in understanding the system, he explains how the provisions of the Waqf Amendment Bill 2024 could best be utilized.

who was involved in drafting amendments to the Waqf Bill in 2013 in a big way. He has a good understanding of how the Waqf system operates in our country.

Waqf Amendment Bill 2024 was introduced in the Parliament this week. This move attracted attention towards mis management of the Waqf system. Concerned Law makers across party lines debated the prospects of the new bill, which will be sent to the Joint Parliamentary Committee for further scrutiny. Clearly the Waqf system in our country is suffering from major shortcomings and rampant corruption.

To discuss various facets of these developments I have with me Syed Mahmood Akhtar sahab a former IRS officer.
