On Jan. 16, 2026, the Dr. Eric Jackman Institute of Child Study continued marking 100 years of shaping the future of education, research, and child development by hosting a landmark panel on how artificial intelligence (AI) can support children's learning.
The discussion featured Nobel Prize winner Dr. Geoffrey Hinton, widely regarded as the godfather of AI, in conversation with educators Dr. Steve Katz, Dr. Eunice Jang, and educator Carol Stephenson. The event was moderated by acclaimed journalist Steve Paikin. Together, they explored the latest research, practical strategies, and future possibilities for integrating AI into education.
