The Webley top break design was long known for its reliable behaviour and stopping power demonstrated throughout both the 1st and 2nd world wars.
With the wars end; Webley again began to set its sights on the commercial markets as well as that of the Police agencies.
Toronto Police contracted Webley to make a number of pistols for their service and these handguns were clearly marked T.P.F on the base of the grips along with an inventory number.
This incredible example was found in a small gun shop north of Toronto in Aurora Ontario, and didn't appear to have ever been used.
Our guess is that it was a drawer gun kept by a higher ranking officer who decided to keep his sidearm following retirement when they still allowed such a practice and eventually made its way into the civilian market again after his passing.
