Glenn Murcutt's Iconic Marie Short House

Описание: Glenn Murcutt designed the Marie Short House, also known as the Kempsey Farm or Glenn Murcutt House, for one of his early clients in the early 1970s.

The home was then purchased by Murcutt himself in 1980.

Here he's talking about a potential client who visited the Marie Short House and was disturbed when he saw Murcutt's ground breaking home from the outside.

"By mixing together Australia’s vernacular style with the clean lines of classic Modernism," wrote Jim Lewis, The New York Times, "he has created an architecture that’s both true to the place and unexpectedly rigorous, like a bow and arrow made out of titanium."
