A master copy of Fantin Latour's roses in a bowl. I have seen the original at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. It was amazing to see the original painting. The paint was very thick and impasto in the light areas. The background however is very airy and atmospheric, which I believe is achieved with multiple thin washes, with possible sanding in between.
