The Winter storms can take a heavy toll on coastal defences and installations. During the harsh weather in February 2014 not did the elements breach 90m of sea wall but the resulting damage severed a key rail link and had serious repercussions on the local infrastructure and economy. Fortunately, Forterra were able to react quickly and within days of an emergency meeting, we were able to start to resolve the problem and get things running again. This video clearly demonstrates the flexibility of approach needed and the battle with the hostile conditions we faced to resolve the problems on the Dawlish coast.
