ใน Museum in Focus ครั้งที่ 2 เมื่อวันที่ 27 ธันวาคม 2568 มิวเซียมสยามชวนย้อนดูกรุงเทพฯ ผ่านแผนที่หลากหลายยุค ตั้งแต่แผนที่จารีต แผนที่ยุคที่สยามเผชิญกับอำนาจของประเทศเจ้าอาณานิคม ไปจนถึง GIS สมัยใหม่ เพื่อเห็นว่าเมืองอย่างกรุงเทพในแต่ละยุค ได้รับการบันทึกต่างกันอย่างไร

🗺️ แผนที่ = ภาษาแห่งอำนาจ
สัญลักษณ์และเส้นต่าง ๆ บนแผนที่ไม่เคยเป็นกลาง แต่บอกว่าใครมีสิทธิ์นิยามเมือง อะไรคือสิ่งที่มองเห็น และอะไรที่หายไป การอ่านแผนที่จึงไม่ใช่เพียงหาการค้นหาสถานที่ ถนน หรือแม่น้ำลำคลอง แต่คือการอ่านโลกทัศน์และรูป-ร่างของกรุงเทพฯ จากเมืองที่มีกำแพงและคูคลอง สู่มหานครที่เต็มไปด้วยถนน ซอย และย่านที่เราคุ้นเคยในทุกวันนี้

วงเสวนายังชวนผู้ร่วมกิจกรรมสำรวจวิวัฒนาการเทคโนโลยีทำแผนที่ ตั้งแต่การเดินสำรวจ ภาพถ่ายทางอากาศ จนถึงระบบภูมิสารสนเทศ ที่ทำให้เมืองทั้งเมืองกลายเป็นฐานข้อมูลที่สามารถบันทึกความเปลี่ยนแปลงอย่างน่าสนใจ

📍 When maps become “lenses” for reading Bangkok
At the second Museum in Focus on 27 December 2025, Museum Siam invited participants to revisit Bangkok through maps across the ages—from traditional cosmological maps and colonial era surveys to today’s GIS—to see how the city has been recorded differently in each period.

🗺️ Maps = the language of power
Lines and symbols on a map are never neutral. They show who gets to define the city, what is made visible, and what is left out. Reading maps is not just about finding streets and rivers, but about reading worldviews and the changing shape of Bangkok—from walled city of canals to the sprawling metropolis of roads, alleys, and neighbourhoods we know today.

🛰️ From survey tables to satellites
The session also traced the evolution of mapping technologies, from ground surveys and aerial photographs to modern geospatial systems that turn the entire city into a living database of urban change.
